“The Salad Bowl of the World,” the Salinas Valley is one of the most bountiful agricultural regions in California, known for the production of lettuce, broccoli, peppers, artichokes and numerous other crops. The climate and long growing season are also ideal for the floral industry and grape vineyards planted by world-famous vintners. And the world’s largest growers of fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries) are right here in the Salinas Valley.
The Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference & Expo, the only event focused on fresh produce in foodservice, is held annually at the Monterey Conference Center. More than 1,700 attendees from across the foodservice supply chain meet to plan for change and set groundwork for strategies that grow the agricultural business.
